5 Craziest Jigsaw Puzzle World Records
Ever wondered how jigsaw puzzles are more than just a game? They provide an opportunity for reflection on life itself. When life presents a puzzle, you consider what your next move should be to fully complete it and move on to the next one. But if you fail in piecing it all together today? No problem, there’s always a tomorrow!
Jigsaw puzzles have been a great source of entertainment for years now. Though the traditional boards have been replaced by free online jigsaw puzzles on the internet, the fun and fact of it still remain the same.
However, coming out of the box, there have been certain records using this very game that have been unthinkable until it was done.
Most Jigsaw Puzzles Solved in One Hour by a Team of Two
This record was achieved by a team of two. One person completed 37 puzzles in an hour, while their partner completed 38 puzzles at the same time. It’s not only impressive that they managed to complete so many puzzles in such a short amount of time, but also because each individual puzzle was more than 300 pieces and included intricate designs and colors.
In addition to being fun and challenging, jigsaw puzzles can improve your cognitive skills, such as spatial intelligence, which helps you think logically about spaces and relationships between objects. They also help develop deductive reasoning skills, i.e., the ability to draw conclusions based on facts or observations.

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon, consider attempting this world record. The record was set in 2012 by Dutchman Richard van Oorschot, who completed a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle while riding on the Walibi Holland theme park’s roller coaster.
The ride itself is called Verbolten, and it has a top speed of 95 miles per hour. If you’re interested in trying it out yourself, using your phone or tablet as a timer is advised so that you can look at your progress without having to constantly check back with the official timer. The time record is 2 minutes and 39 seconds.
Final Thoughts
While it’s amazing that anyone can accomplish such feats, these are people who have truly dedicated themselves to the art of jigsaw puzzles. If you’re looking for a way to unwind, or if you want a new hobby that will challenge your mind and reward your patience, consider taking up the craft yourself. There’s no sense of accomplishment like putting together an intricate puzzle made up of hundreds of pieces.
